This will be a traditional(as traditional as we can get with a hipster westerner), lengthy, and fun wedding ceremony.

The Battle?

So here is the deal: Jerome and Eva will be separated from the night before the wedding. Obviously, couples shouldn’t spend a night together until they are married.(taboo…).
On the wedding day, start bright and early(The definition of which is always up to debate, we will come up with an agreed term.).
Jerome and his ‘bros’ will dress up like slick mafia, jump into swanky car or horse carriage to mission for his Bride (who is gonna be that unlucky sucker?)
On the other side of the town, Eva’s supports will build up a fortress of challenges and ordeals to test if her suitor has the right quiddities for a groom recommended by ancient Chinese wise man (Not so sure if it is still wise in our modern world, but it is a reference. Let’s take it.)

The traditionally valued 6 qualities are:

• Valour
• Wealth
• Wisdom
• Compassion
• Deftness
• Endless passion for his wife (this one Eva made up)

Then the time comes, for team Jerome to battle for Eva. If it fails, oh, well where is the nearest pub to get trashed? – China is never short of nice strong Baijiu! If it succeeded, all parade to Eva’s home. Pay attention to the word “parade”, it is Chinese tradition to make a bit of noise on the street.
After all the hard work, including carrying Eva on his back up 6 floors. The couple will face more challenges in life, this time together. Then more serious family union ceremony will happen – you will see the details if you are there yourself.

Break…

I am sure you are longing for a break after the madness in the morning. And it is what is going to happen.
Wedding couple will be taken away for some embarrassing photoshooting and a rehearsal for wedding ceremony.

Banquet/Main ceremony

Banquet starts with more ceremonial activities, featuring Jerome shooting arrows. (We have to keep the rest secret.) Then lots of talking – don’t worry, will make sure there is more food and drinks than speeches.
While you are eating, we will provide some entertainment such as wedding dance, music and a traditional round the table wedding toasts.
